_ Dr. Uma Kumari.
From the desk of Founder
Dr Uma Kumari, Doctorate in Bioinformatics, is the Founder, Director, Professor, and Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at the Bioinformatics Project and Research Institute (BPRI), Noida. She holds a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Bangalore University and a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from JRU. She has 14 years of teaching experience, including 9 years as an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, and Microbiology at Ranchi University, and over 12 years of research experience. Her areas of expertise include Computational Biology, Microbiology, Genome Sequencing Analysis, Drug Designing, NGS (Next Generation Sequencing), Whole Genome Sequencing, Genomics and Proteomics Analysis, Computational Biology, Homology Modelling, Sequence Alignment Tools, Research Methodology, and the writing and review of research articles. Her research interests encompass Molecular Docking Simulation (Protein–Protein Docking, Ligand–Receptor Docking, PyMOL, Binding Affinity Prediction, Drug–DNA Interaction Energy, DNA Sequence-to-Structure Analysis, Protein Structure Optimization, Protein Secondary Structure Prediction), Bio Python, BioR, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Structural Validation, Toxicity Identification, and Insecticidal Activity Analysis in Plants using bioinformatics software and Next Generation Sequencing techniques. She has presented seven research papers (oral and poster) at national and international conferences and received the Best Research Paper Award from the International Journal of Biotechnology and Research (TJPRC), Chennai. She has been awarded a National Record by the OMG Book of Records as the “Youngest Bioinformatics Scientist and Speaker with Maximum Publications. Dr. Uma Kumari serves on the editorial board of several international journals of biotechnology and research, 5 patent Publication and has published over 195 research papers in Scopus-indexed, Elsevier Embase, PubMed, NAAS-rated, and UGC-listed international journals with high impact factors across India, Europe, the USA, and the UK. Her work is widely accessible and can be easily found on Google. She has been invited as a speaker at international conferences in NIET Noida and national webinars, including those organized by the Central Research Laboratory, IMS & SUM Hospital (Odisha, India), and has trained over 5000 students in the field of bioinformatics. She has also served as a speaker at reputed institutions such as the ICMR (NIIH) Department of Cytogenetics (National Institute of Immunohematology, Mumbai), NIET, VIT Vellore, Bangalore University, Amity University, and Delhi University. Dr. Uma Kumari is a Reviewer and Editorial Board Member of several international journals, including: IJBTR (International Journal of Biotechnology and Research), IJERT (International Journal of Engineering Research and Technology), JETIR (Journal of Emerging Technology and Innovative Research), and Editorial board member in BMC Bioinformatics (Springer Nature) American Journal of Bioscience, New York, USA
