I am a B. tech3rd year student of Biotechnology from Manipal Institute of Technology, MAHE, Karnataka.Being interested in bioinformatics and searching for a good bioinformatics professor I got know about Dr. Uma Kumari ma’am from New Delhi. Getting interested in her work I approached to her and got the opportunity to get a training on Bioinformatics. Dr. Kumari is a professor of dedication and a scientist of most innovative thoughts. Initially she introduced me about relevance of informatics and biology in present context. While training under Dr. Kumari I not only got to know more about the subject from basics but also got know its application with an easy and scientific approach. She has a unique style of approaching students with an understanding of student’s perception towards a subject and then explaining the topics as per his/her capability. I am honored to train under ma’am and most importantly her friendly nature makes me highly interested on this area of Biotechnology. She gave me the strength to take the next steps toward my dream of studying Bioinformatics. I’m so grateful to her.

I completed my 3 month dissertation program in bioinformatics under the mentorship and Guidance of Dr. Uma ma'am. My name is Navjot Kaur, and I am a postgraduate research student from Punjab. Since January 2022, I've been working on a six-month research project in the field of bioinformatics under the supervision of Dr. Uma Kumari. I'm delighted to say that Dr. Uma is an excellent supervisor in both technical and non-technical aspects. Working on a project with her has been a great experience since I've learned a lot of new things that I was previously unaware of. It is only achievable due to my mentor's significant experience in the subject. Aside from that, she is very cooperative and her lectures are quite engaging and informative. The most essential factor is that each batch has 3 to 4 students, which allows us to clear our doubts simply in class without any fuss.
